G is for Ghost

We are just loving this holiday season and the countless ways to celebrate it. Today for preschool we looked at the letter 'g' and made some scary ghosts.

Halloween songs

Warm-up/Review

We switched things up a bit and played the fly swatter game: "Catch the word..." I say a word or number or letter and Owen finds it and swats it with the fly swatter. It's a favorite around here and a great way to review what's been learned.

Handwriting

He was SO excited he traced it the right way the first time. :)

Craft Time
We practiced cutting on a straight line as Owen cut out strips of paper for his ghost.

Owen didn't really help with this one too much when we made these ghost "puppets" but that wasn't really the point of making them. I made these for Owen to use to retell our ghost story. This was a great comprehension activity and super effective, not to mention fun.
 "ooooooooo"

Game

We used one of our busy bags to practice matching uppercase letters to lowercase letters. It's a favorite for sure.

 Closing Circle Time

We played spooky freeze dance with Halloween songs, one included Thriller, naturally. ;)
