Grateful

So the past few days have been pretty hectic. I've been trying to plan a few activities as well as a fun birthday for Tyson and Mr. Owen has been cutting some teeth and therefore SUPER clingy and whiny. I feel bad because I haven't been the best mom to him. I've been making him tag along with me as we go to store to store and then not giving him very much attention when we're at home. So after a long fun night with friends celebrating Tyson's birthday and getting home late, I was pretty exhausted when Owen decided to wake up at 5:45 instead of his usual 8:15. I'm not sure why and half the time I don't. But instead of being super grumpy when I went into his room to try to see if he would go back to sleep, I decided I'd give him my full attention. I climbed into his crib (no it did not break) :) and I laid right next to him and let him cuddle up to me as I rubbed his back. Occasionally he'd turn and kiss me and then I'd tell him I loved him and we just laid like that....for about 30 minutes. I knew he was exhausted but I also knew he needed some mommy time....and I needed some Owie time. It was lovely. I loved every minute and it recharged me just enough to get up with him and have a great morning.

So I'm grateful for times like these that help me refocus and not sweat the small stuff and really know what life's about; and see what's REALLY important to me. And that would be my family. :)

This is so cute Julie. Sucha great reminder how rewarding motherhood can be.

I got in Esley's crib once with him when he was being silly after he woke up from one of his naps and he didn't want to get out. He just wanted to jump on his bed. Anyway when I got in his bed and layed down, he totally lost it. Go figure right? haha.. its kind of funny to think about it now actually.

Your so cute to crawl into his crib with him! I think ours would break if I tried to do that with Joe : ) Also, I put more instructions on how to make the picture book on my blog. Hopefully that helps.

You are so cute. I loved that you crawled in the crib with him instead of taking him back to your bed. How special! Thanks for sharing!

That is so sweet! I would love to try that, but I would be afraid that it would break!
