Our Week - Documented

So my good friend Jess had a great idea. She decided she was going to document a week of her life to journal their daily events to look back on 5 or 10 years from now and see what life was like. I love this idea! So for my own enjoyment, I have journaled what a few days of our lives right now look like.

Monday -
6:30am - Owen wakes up. Tyson takes him so I can sleep in. Tyson feeds him breakfast (raisins, yogurt, apples).
7:15am - I wake up and Owen and I and our sweet downstairs neighbor Vicki go on a morning walk. She is about my mom's age and lives here alone...we really like her.
8:00 - Come back from our walk and play in the front room.
8:50 - Owen goes down for a nap. I get ready for the day, work on my teacher-2-mom blog, talk to my good friend Kate, make lunches and get the stroller ready for another walk.
10:50 - Owen wakes up. We hurry downstairs (yes he is still in his pjs) and meet our friends Brooke and Esley for a walk to the park. We speed walk to the park and the kids play. First I dress Owen. :)
11:40 - We speed walk back to my apartment and say good bye. Owen and I jump in the car and race to Tyson's school to meet him and some friends for lunch outside. We have to take advantage of this 80 degree weather.
1:10 - We leave Midwestern and come home to play. We read books, wash hands and faces and sing songs.
2:30 - Owen goes down for his second nap. I pull out my sewing machine and decide to make a crayon roll. Of course I mess up the first version so I make another one. Good thing Owen is sleeping. I clean up the house a little bit and make a list of things to do/get for our St. Patrick's Day green brunch.
4:30 - Owen wakes up. He has a snack in his high chair: cut up pears. We rush out the door and go to Tyson's school where he's volunteering for Cuts for Kids, a place where people donate their hair for cancer patients. We meet some friends there and walk around to enjoy free food, crafts, and music. Owen gets pummeled down by some random lady speed walking and we decide we need some cotton candy. Owen then gets nervous and upset around the big cow and gorilla walking around so we decide we need to leave.
6:00 - We leave and Tyson stays. We use some coupons we just won to get dinner at Chick-Filet. We head home and luckily Tyson got to come home early to join us for dinner.
6:30 - We eat dinner and have family time. Tyson and Owen wrestle and I get excited for the Bachelor.
7:00 - I start watching the Bachelor while Tyson and Owen play.
7:30 - Tyson bathes Owen and I get him ready for bed. We give kisses and I go lay him down in his crib.
8:00 - Owen's asleep and so I continue watching the Bachelor. Tyson joins me even though he needs to study.
10:00 - Yes I watched the entire Bachelor and after the rose ceremony while cuddling with Tyson. I was going to go to girl's night but decided I needed some hubby time.
10:30 - Go to bed.

Tuesday
6:20 - Owen wakes up. I let him stay in his crib for 20 minutes.
6:40 - I get Owen out of his crib and we get some breakfast: pears and raisins and a pop tart.
7:10 - We say good bye to Tyson as he bikes to school. I clean up a little bit and we get ready to go on a run.
7:30 - We go on a run with Kelsey and our new friend Erin.
8:15 - Owen goes to sleep. Kind of early today, he must be so tired!
8:30 - Blog for a minute and then hop in the shower. Get ready and clean up a bit.
10:00 - My friend Stacey comes over so I can help her with a teaching project. I love talking about lesson plans! {seriously I do!}
12:00 - Stacey leaves and Owen and I head to JoAnns for some supplies. I was planning on going to Target and Costco too but Owen started falling asleep so we rushed home and I put him down for a nap.
1:15 - Owen naps. I sew a gift for a friend and a family member. I also have to figure out how to do the bobbin thingy which takes FOREVER. Eat lunch and clean up my mess.
4:00 - Owen finally wakes up. He eats a snack, yogurt and bananas, and we get ready to leave.
4:30 - We go to Tyson's flag football game and watch on the sidelines with friends.
6:30 - Make dinner. Tyson's fave, tacos.
6:50 - Rush out the door to a Relief Society committee meeting.
8:45 - Get home. Eat more tacos. mmmmm. Hang out with the hubs.
10:30 - bed time

Wednesday
5:45 - Owen wakes up...super early!! We have quiet time and watch Baby Einstein. I feed him breakfast, pears and pop tarts. The boy won't eat these days...oh well.
7:00 - Get dressed and get ready for our walk. While changing Owen's poopy diaper he has a melt down while having poop on his bare bum with me trying so hard to not get it anywhere while wiping, cleaning, wiping some more and finally sticking the diaper on a very unhappy baby. We finally are ready.
7:30 - Go walking with Chrissy and Kelly.
8:00 - Kelly comes up to hang out and talk about her baby girl that is on the way.
9:00 - Owen needs to take a nap so so bad so I lay him down. He doesn't like this idea...I definitely missed my window to put him down. I help him wind down by rubbing his back and he gets more tired so I leave. A few minutes later he starts crying; hard. So I go in and find he had bonked his chin while trying to stand up and bit his tongue so hard he was bleeding everywhere. So we clean up and I put him back down once he has calmed down.
9:45 - Owen is finally asleep. I clean the house that is filthy and vacuum again for Owen's allergies.
11:00 - Owen wakes up, much happier, thank goodness. We eat lunch and get ready to run some errands.
11:30 - Run to Hobby Lobby to get things for our green brunch tomorrow. Then run to the store but realize Tyson has the right credit card I need. We call him and he was just about to leave to bike home. Rush and pick him up and head back to the store.
1:00 - Owen and I run in while Tyson closes his eyes because he has a massive headache.
2:00 - Rush home, unload everything and I get ready to go visiting teaching.
2:20 - Pick up my companion and head to our first girl's house.
3:00 - Head to our second girl's house.
3:30 - Head to our third girl's house.
4:00 - Drop off my companion and head home.
4:15 - Owen wakes up right after I walk in. Tyson's not feeling well still so I grab Owen and we play and have a snack.
5:00 - Tyson wants to make his special soup so he gets up to make dinner. Owen and I continue to play inside and on the balcony while we also help Tyson.
6:00 - Eat dinner and watch Lie to Me.
7:00 - Chase after Owen and play together.
7:30 - Tyson bathes Owen while I vacuum the house for the green brunch. Then I grab him out of the tub and get him ready for bed.
8:00 - Owen's asleep. I do the dishes, make my green pancake batter to put in the fridge for tomorrow, sweep the floors, fold a few loads of laundry from throughout the day.
8:45 - Our good friends Skyler and Jenny drop by to pick up their TV and chat. So nice to relax and have adult time. ;)
10:00- They leave and we go straight to bed.

Thursday
3:30am - Owen wakes up crying in pain and cannot go back to sleep no matter what we do. We try soothing him by rubbing his back, holding him, giving him some medicine...nothing works until he finally falls asleep in Tyson's arms upright.
5:00 - Tyson puts Owen back in his crib.
6:45 - Owen wakes up again and this time I try to get him back to sleep because I know he's so tired. I end up putting on a Baby Einstein movie to get his mind off his pain. He falls asleep sitting in my lap in 5 minutes. I continue to hold him on the couch because if I move he wakes up again. I lay with him for about 45 min and then put him in his crib.
7:30 - I hurry and get things ready for our green brunch by making play dough, making shamrock necklaces and cleaning up the kitchen. I want to print out a few other things and place footprints throughout the house but Owen wakes up.
8:00 - Owen wakes up and is burning up. We take his temp, 99.5. Not too bad but he is so uncomfortable and will not stop crying. Tyson takes him and lays down with him to help him sleep longer.
8:30- I call the drs and we get an app for 9:30. While the boys sleep I get ready for the day and start setting up the card making table as well as the food stuff. Good thing I made the green pancakes the night before.
9:15 - Owen wakes up and we change him. Tyson decides to take him to the Drs even though he has school. I decide to keep the green brunch scheduled and Tyson and Owen leave.
9:30 - I go back to getting things ready.
9:45 - Jamie and the girls come to help set up/decorate.
10:00 - I'm feeling a little flustered and worried but then my friend Heather comes to help too. Thank goodness for Jamie and Heather!
10:15 - 10:45 - Friends start coming in and the party gets started. We have cute green necklaces for all the kids to wear and the food is ready! The kids make cards and we all eat a green meal. Heather helps me by putting green foot prints everywhere. You can't have a St. Paddy's Day party without the leprechaun showing up!
11:00 - Tyson comes home with a very tired Owen: he has 2 terrible ear infections, a 103 degree fever and now needs to have tubes in his ears. I hold him on my lap and he immediately falls asleep. Poor guy misses most of the party! Tyson gets his prescription and then heads to school.
11:45 - Owen wakes up and I feed him for the first time in the day and we all go searching for leprechauns. We follow the footprints until we reach the end and find a pot of gold! The older girls were so excited!
12:30 - People are gone and Heather and Kaylee clean my house. Owen is feeling much better and is mosing around.
12:45 - The girls leave and I play with Owen for a little bit and try to get him to eat some more. I give him some medicine and put him down for a nap.
1:30 - Owen goes to sleep...so do I.
3:30 - We both wake up and Owen has a fever again. We play together for a while until Tyson comes home.
5:00 - We make tacos again....Tyson is on a chicken strike and I don't really like hamburger. Owen eats a little more and we watch the BYU basketball game. Don't worry I didn't cheer for them. :)
6:30 - Tyson goes back to school to study and I play with Owen. We read books, sing songs and chase each other.
7:15 - Tubby time. I bathe Owen, get him dressed, give lots of kisses and put him to bed.
7:45 - Owen is asleep. I talk to my good friend Kate, work on my teacher-2-mom blog and decide to fold laundry while watching Bones.
9:30 - Head to bed and Tyson comes home to study some more here so I feel safe alone.
10:30 - Owen wakes up crying in pain and Tyson helps him go back to sleep.
3:00am - Owen wakes up crying in pain and I hold him out on the couch until he falls asleep. He wouldn't go back to sleep in his crib and he is so heavy now so we sit on the couch while I rock him and he eventually falls asleep. We lay out there for a while and then I just decide to take him into bed and sleep upright so he can sleep upright on my chest.

Friday
5:00 - I finally fall asleep. Owen sleeps heavily and we snuggle. The only good party about having a sick child. ;) Tyson wakes up to study some more.
6:35 - Owen wakes up because my arm is asleep and I tried to move it. Luckily he wakes up happy and Tyson takes him so I can sleep for a little bit more.
7:15 - Tyson needs to get ready and go to school so I play with Owen.
7:45 - Tyson leaves to take his test and I get Owen ready for the day, feed him some more, and we play inside.
8:40 - Owen is ready for a nap so I go to lay him down but he wants me to stay a while so I do. He is sick after all.
9:00 - Owen is asleep and I hop in the shower.
9:30 - Visiting teachers come.
10:30 - Visiting teachers leave. I put some make up on super quick.
10:40- Owen wakes up.
10:45 - I make us lunches and we go to the park to play with Zurik.
12:00 - We come home and finish our lunches and I decide we should go swimming.
12:30 - We get ready for the pool and walk on the steps. The water is still a little cool for Owen but loves being outside.
1:30 - We come home and get dressed again and play on the balcony.
2:20 - I go lay Owen down for his nap and rub his back for a few minutes.
2:30 - Owen is asleep. I decide to catch up on the blog.
3:00 - Made a necklace for my really good friend Emily's birthday, talked to my mom and picked up a little bit.
3:45 - Owen wakes up...grumpy. He eats a pear and I try to help him be happy. Tyson comes home and we play.
4:15 - Tyson lays down because he has a headache and I try to finish the gift with a very clingy baby. I let Owen play with the DVDs, something I usually don't do, but I was desperate.
5:00 - Tyson goes to school to play basketball. Owen and I get ready to leave, clean up our messes and I try to make Owen happy.
5:40 - We go and grab a pizza and head to the school to eat outside with our friends. All the kids play together while the mommies talk and the dads play hacky sac.
7:30 - Leave the school and head home. I go out for a little bit to see some friends and Tyson studies.
12:00am - Owen wakes up and doesn't fall back asleep until 1:30. The joys of ear infections! I help him go back to sleep.
1:30 - I finally go to sleep.

Saturday
7:15 - Owen wakes up. Tyson takes him so I can sleep a little bit longer.
7:45 - So much for sleeping in. My arm has been killing me lately so I wake up from that pain and decide to start the day. We get ready for the day and get dressed to go to the temple.
8:40 - Leave to Rachel and Wes' house to drop Owen off.
8:50 - Get to their place and stay for a while.
9:20 - Leave for the temple. Owen is so happy to play with Zurik and Rachel.
10:00 - Get to the temple and do sealings. Rach put Owen down for a nap and he did awesome.
11:45 - Go to Cafe Rio (the closest one to us) and eat lunch.
1:30 - Arrive at the Stuker's house. Owen had so much fun and slept for almost 2 hours and ate mac and cheese for lunch. We love Rachel and Wes and Zurik!
1:45 - Go home and Owen is already tired. He falls asleep in our arms as we carry him to the apt. but then wakes up. We were supposed to go to the park to meet our friends Lyla and Candice but I have to cancel. Owen is way too tired.
2:30 - Owen is fast asleep. Tyson decides to take a nap and I vegg while reading and blogging. I decide to be somewhat productive and stop eating chocolate so I go back to working on my projects.
3:45 - Owen wakes up and he eats a snack and we head to the mall with Jill. Owen does okay but has a few hard times. Good thing I brought a back up: nerds and a lolly pop.
6:00 - Drop off Jill and head home. Tyson comes down dressed for his soccer game and sits with Owen while I race inside and grab warmer clothes and Owen and I's dinner.
6:30 - We head to the soccer game while I eat my left over cafe rio dinner and Owen has potatoes and fruit.
7:00 - Soccer game starts and Owen plays while we hang out with friends. After a while Owen starts to run everywhere, including the field, leaving me really tired and definitely done for the day. Good thing my friend Rachel decides to head to the park next to the field. Owen and I join in and I realize just how tired he is when he's falling asleep on the swings.
8:45 - We finally leave and Owen is super super tired. Way past his bed time.
9:00 - We get home, dress Owen and he is asleep in a matter of minutes.
9:15 - Tyson goes out and gets us some frozen yogurt because I'm feeling a little bit grumpy. :) We watch Lie to Me and snuggle and eat our yogurt.
10:30 - Bed time. Tyson decides he doesn't want anything we have for dinner and runs to the store to get steaks and potatoes. I fall fast asleep probably before my head hits the pillow.

And there you have it. Almost a whole weeks worth of our life: documented. Hopefully I can read back on it and laugh or realize just how easy/hard our lives were at this time. :)
