To my sweet Owen:

Oh my sweet baby boy. You are FOUR! You changed my life forever when I first welcomed you into the world. I was overcome with emotion and felt the spirit SO strongly. It was a very spiritual birth for me. I had longed for you since I could remember. Being a mom is my dream job and you made it possible. I can't believe it's been 4 years since that special day. You have brought me more joy than I could ever ever imagine. You have taught me more than anyone has ever taught me. You have taught me how to love until it hurts, patience to no end, forgiveness, compassion, an extreme amount of love for my Savior and to my Heavenly Father, gratitude, overwhelming gratitude, to be more positive, to have a more open mind, to be more go with the flow, more sensitive, more kind and so much more.

You are one beautiful boy, Owen. Full of love, sensitivity, and awareness of others' feelings. You strive to make us happy. You get overwhelmed easily with attention and are shy until you feel safe. When you feel safe and loved, there are no boundaries for you. You soar and succeed. You are a fighter. You have faced more adversity than many people do in a lifetime. You have pushed through so many physical barriers and have proved science wrong. You are so special my sweet Owen. You are so loved.

I thank God for your life. I thank God for saving your life. You will do so much good in this world. You are a miracle. And your miracle has touched your mama so so much and in so many different ways. I am humbled to my knees because of you. You are my best friend. I love you more than you'll know. Okay maybe you'll know once you have your own children. But thank you Owen. Thank you for teaching your mommy something I will never ever forget. And that is the love our Savior and Heavenly Father has for us is immense and noncomprehending. That the power of the atonement is real and will fight for you until you feel whole again. You are beautiful.

Happy Birthday!
Always yours,
Mom
