Tyson Jensen

I love birthdays. I love celebrating them, I love having them, and I especially love planning them. Tyson on the other hand, really doesn't like them. He hates the recognition, and he doesn't want people doting on him. Too bad for him he has a wife who is the complete opposite. But I do try to keep his wants in mind. :) This year he turned the big 30. It had to be something big! But since he is not a party fan, I thought I'd do something different that had a big effect and really showed him that he is special and so very loved. I did ask him what he wanted for his birthday and he said more time with me....he always says he doesn't get nearly enough time with me since I am always looking after the littles. So I decided to give him just that and booked a surprise little overnighter up in Scottsdale.

It had to be a surprise because he would have objected and kicked and screamed until I didn't go through with it. So I got our really good friends The Neeley's to watch the boys and packed up his clothes and mine, had everything ready in the car, and waited for him to get home from school. I had just dropped off the boys across the street, when I walked in and kindly asked him to get in the car and that he couldn't ask questions until we were on the road. He did ask where his children were but then he listened and we were off!

We had such a great time and I think he really enjoyed the downtime and alone time with me. We stayed at the Hyatt in downtown Scottsdale, went out to eat, did a little shopping, had some yummy cupcakes from Sprinkles and just enjoyed our time together.

Happy birthday to my sweetheart and the love of my life. 30 sure looks good on you babe!

The next day we got home and it was his actual birthday. We celebrated as a family at Cafe Rio (of course), made daddy some cards, let him go on a long bike ride and of course take a nice long nap. We sure do love our daddy, so much!!
