Both Owen and Graham have passed their half birthdays (Owen 2 1/2, Graham 6 mo.) and I have been awful at blogging about lately. Graham is almost 8 months and I don't even want to think of Owen almost turning THREE YEARS OLD. I hate how fast time flies!
Owen is really getting BIG. Not necessarily size wise (he is currently in the 11th percentile for weight and 92nd for height) but "mind" wise. He is acting like such a big boy in all ways. It is both hilarious and amazing to watch, and at times can be pure exhausting and frustrating. He sure is testing his limits and tantrums are happening way too often for my liking. He is two years old and I need to keep reminding myself that. Owen continues to be super excited about life. I absolutely LOVE that about him. He loves to know what everything is and asks what everything is too. ;) He's curious, yet timid and large groups of people or hectic situations overwhelm him majorly. He's a home body, yet he needs structure and loves to be outside. He is still attached to my hip and only let's "mommy" do things for him. He is still as sweet natured as ever. He talks a mile a minute. All. The. Time. Tyson says he gets that from me. :) He is smart. We can't wait to start Joy School next week! He is such a great talker and his grammar improves daily. His fine motor skills are improving too. His pictures are proof. We are working on letter sounds now and writing his name. But he continues to know all his letters, upper and lower case, he can count to 20, knows simple shapes, and is quite the builder with legos (thanks to daddy). I love teaching him new things and watching his eyes light up with curiosity. I love that he still loves to read. We read at least 30 minutes to an hour a day. Graham loves to sit in for much of this time too. It makes my teacher heart smile. Owen is an awesome swimmer. He can swim by himself for a few minutes now and loves to just hold his breath under water and "float". He will be a really great swimmer in no time. Owen is still so sensitive as ever. He has a hard time when daddy is gone and he doesn't get his quality one on one time with him. When Tyson is home he is really good about taking Owen on father/son dates and they love to wrestle, tickle and sing really really loud together. Owen will say many phrases that Tyson has taught him that crack me up. Some are: "looking sharp daddy" or "you look beautiful mommy" or "Oh snap!" or "cool beans" or "Go Messie!"(sp?) or sometimes a random medical term that I can't spell or pronounce. It is way too cute and I wish I had all of it on camera.
I sure love this boy more than anything.
Now Graham....he loves to play with his tongue like you can see in almost every picture below. Sometimes it will make him look "special" :) But I sure do love this little guy. He is the most mellow thing around. His main freak outs are from dirty diapers, hunger and tiredness. Otherwise he is content to be put down and hang by himself, to just lay in his crib if I'm trying to get things done in his room, or sit on my lap. He is so still. So different from his active older brother :) He absolutely loves to be sang to, especially by daddy and Owen still makes him laugh the most. I love how entertained he is by him. Graham is sitting up so so well! He will go onto his hands and knees and even rock back and forth! I think we may have a crawler on our hands soon! He is so strong. His head is still super big (95%) and he has slowed down weight wise (65%) and he is still really long (92%). We just have tall boys I guess.
Graham is constantly drooling and has his two bottom teeth. I think he is currently getting more. He has already had double ear infections and I am hoping he doesn't follow in his brothers footsteps and have to get tubes put in. Graham is now sleeping through the night and takes three hour and a half naps daily. I am so proud of my big boy! He also puts himself to sleep without crying :)
I love him more than anything!
Now onto our new house! We love love love where we live right now. We are currently in Mesa and we love our new neighborhood and ward. We have already made so many friends and we have been so blessed to keep so many of our close friends near us as many of them moved down here too. I need to take pictures of our new place and post them soon. Tyson just finished his first rotation at an Urgent Care. He loved it and did really, really well in it. He just started his second rotation in Family Medicine today and we are excited for this schedule as it allows him to be home by 5 and have Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays off! We are so excited! I have been keeping busy with the boys, but am excited to help teach Joy School with Owen and some friends starting next week. I am also putting together lesson plans with my really good friend Jamie to be sold on Teachers Pay Teachers online. It's been fun to get back into teaching this way since I miss it all the time. We still don't have any callings in the ward but I have a feeling one of us may end up in nursery. Which would be totally fine! We are missing our families a ton but hopefully we can see them soon. We also can't wait for it to not be over 110 degrees DAILY anymore. We definitely go swimming all the time! We have also had the best time playing with friends. We have playdates almost daily and get together with our close friends almost weekly. They are seriously our family down here. We feel so grateful!
